Ayan Saxena is an award-winning cinematographer based in Mumbai, India. An alumnus of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, his work can be defined by a deep commitment to narrative-driven visual storytelling.

 

Ayan’s narrative credits include Subedaar (2026 / Amazon Prime Video),  and the upcoming Action-Romance feature film Laikey Laika. Ayan’s evocative approach to lighting and composition earned him the Best Cinematography honor at the  Critic’s Choice Awards  for the celebrated short film, The East Wind and Special Jury Mention for The Beaten Path (Short) at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. 

In the commercial sphere, he has translated his distinct visual storytelling to campaigns for many brands, including Swiggy, Uber, Britania, Horlicks, Amazon, Asian Paints and Hyundai etc.

 

Known for an aesthetic that seamlessly blends striking framing with raw emotional intimacy, Ayan relies on a deeply intuitive on-set approach, consistently elevating the visual language through close and dynamic collaboration with his directors.
